Week 1 Wrap

EFXPATRIATES FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE · 2026 SEASON

Week 1 wrap

We’re back. Seven teams are 1–0, seven are 0–1, and half the league is already trying not to panic.

Well, we’re back! After months of waiting, overthinking our draft picks and convincing ourselves that this is finally the year, Week 1 is in the books. Seven teams are 1–0 and seven are 0–1, so naturally half the league is already feeling good about themselves and the other half is trying not to panic. Losing in Week 1 sucks, but fantasy leagues aren’t won after one week!

Week 1 headlines

Eventual Winner starts the season with the highest score

133.30

A very nice opening week for Eventual Winner, who led the league in scoring. Jahmyr Gibbs showed why he was the #1 overall pick with 31.10 points, Jaxson Dart dropped 26.60, and Chris Olave added 23.20. Parker Washington lived up to the preseason hype, looking the part of a #1 receiver against the pitiful Browns.

Da’ Bills… what happened?

68.64

That was the lowest score in the league by more than 12 points.

Baker Mayfield: 11.64. He obviously spent most of the offseason trying to get a new contract instead of studying the game plan. James Cook: 8.40. Probably an anomaly, but the best goal-line back in Buffalo is Josh Allen! A combined 6 points from Terry McLaurin, Courtland Sutton and Hunter Henry… all players over the age of 30!?

The closest game of the week

FridayNightLights over FromManningtoMahomes by 12.22

This was a week of decisive wins across the board. There was little sweating on Monday night to see if you could pull out a win!

Biggest beatdown

Eventual Winner 133.30, Dakstreet Boys 81.10

A 52.20-point margin. Ouch.

League stock report

▲ Stock up

  • Caleb Williams (JR) — 37.26 points. The highest player output on a team that just put up 59 points. That’ll work. Interestingly, no TDs went to Loveland, Odunze or Burden!
  • Kenneth Walker (Raw Dawgs) — 32.60 points: 173 rushing yards, a rushing TD and a receiving TD. I see you, Kenneth Walker. Why did it take SEA until the Super Bowl to give him more carries???
  • Derrick Henry (99 Problems But Hurts Ain’t 1) — Three touchdowns on his way to 34.80 points. I have to stop betting against Henry! The BAL offence looks like it could be special this season.
  • Christian Watson (FridayNightLights) — 29.70 points on 147 yards and 2 TDs. I love Watson’s skill set. If they decide to throw a lot more this season, look out for Watson, Golden and Reed! How bad was their running game, though… props to the MIN defense!

▼ Stock down

  • Ja’Marr Chase (Dakstreet Boys) — 2.20 points. Four catches. 12 yards. Ja’Marr Chase had fewer receiving yards than Patrick Mahomes had rushing yards. I guess he was a little more banged up than he let on!
  • Jaylen Waddle (99 Problems But Hurts Ain’t 1) — 0.70 points. One catch. 2 yards. That is… not ideal.
  • Colston Loveland (JR) — 0.00 points. Two targets. Zero catches. The CHI offense scored 59 points and he put up a goose egg… that may be the biggest statistical anomaly we see all season!
  • Kyle Pitts (Titan Up) — 0.00 points. One target. Zero catches. Unlike Loveland, this was weirdly not that surprising!

Browns report

Well, that was bad. It was actually worse than I thought it would be, and that is saying something. This game was over after the first quarter.

Watson is terrible, yet both he and the coaching staff seem oblivious to this fact. He will start against TB in Week 2; after they get destroyed, that may be the last we see of Watson in an NFL game. The defense was a sieve. They got no pressure on Lawrence, and JAX moved up and down the field at will. At least we didn’t have to read any headlines about Myles Garrett dominating in LA!

There were some bright spots. The special teams were not an embarrassment, Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion look like legit NFL receivers, and two rookies started on the offensive line and did not look out of place.

It sucks when you know after Week 1 that the season is over! Archie Manning is going to look great in the orange and brown!

Good luck to everyone in Week 2, and as always GO BROWNS!
